OCTOBER 2011

New Board Member Elections will be in November. The exact date is under discussion. Elections will be held in meeting room A. Pizza will be made available for all voting members who show and cast their vote. If you want to make a difference in your Costa Mesa Alano Club please come cast your vote, or better yet, run for an available open seat.

  • ·         In order to vote you must be a member of the Costa Mesa Alano Club in good standing.

  • ·         Requirements to become a Board Member are that you have a minimum of six months of sobriety and member of the club in good standing.

Remember, this is a member’s owned club and only you can decide what direction you want your club to take. So please, become active!

The internal club financial audit is done and posted in the club room. The Board has decided to seek a Professional Accounting firm to verify the financial report. Selection of an outside firm is on-going but estimates are in hand. We anticipate the outside audit will be completed and ready for presentation the beginning of November.

Have you noticed the Alano of Costa Mesa’s website face-lift. Our webmaster Scott H., of PC-Lifeguards.net, has done a splendid job at not only making the site more user friendly but has also added some cyber magic to navigate web-viewers to our site. Further, Scott has created a Facebook “Place” site for feedback purposes. Should you not have a Facebook account and would like to send a comment or suggestion to our Board you can now use the “Contact Us” option directly located on the CMAC website home page.

Scary things are afoot…… Starting Friday night, the 7th of October, and every Friday night through the month of October the club will be having “Scary Movie Night” featuring the most blood filled, horrifying and gruesome entertainment that your eyes can stand, and, Oh yes, we’ll be showing a movie, too. Pizza, cheesebread, popcorn and endless fountain drinks are all on the ‘Carde du Jour’ for only a small suggested donation. So creep out at night and drop by the CMAC.  The fun starts at 9:30PM in the club room.

Sick of the same old meetings and you need a change. Well then, get yourself a Big Book, on sale at Club Coffee Bar, and start your own meeting. The CMAC has space available. See the club manager for an open time slot that best suits your schedule.
